The Hearlihy drafting catalog has expanded to offer technology kits and equipment as well as drafting materials. From technical pens and triangles to structures and screen printing, the 2009
Hearlihy Drafting & Supplies catalog delivers the best of both worlds.
Traditional drafting teachers will find the variety of scales, compasses, furniture, software, and other drafting materials and equipment they are accustomed to finding. Those who teach the hands-on application of drafting and other technology skills will find plenty to help them – including resources for model building, alternative energy, transportation, metal crafts, plastics, and criminology.
For the August edition, the catalog features new house framing kits developed by Hearlihy. These affordable kits – Gabled Roof and Hipped Roof – are ideal long-term projects for building trades, technology, and math classes. Based on realistic house plans, these kits give students experience building a house frame from the foundation to the roof.
While building these scale-model kits, students use math when reading rulers, working with and converting fractions, and measuring angles. Each kit comes with a cutting tool, plan, drawings, gusset material, and balsa wood.
In addition to the catalog changes, Hearlihy is discounting its technology modules and Whole Class Curriculum. Sixty-five titles can be purchased for an average savings of more than 40 percent off the original price. Schools purchasing these titles will still receive a quality product with technical support.
